SUMMARY:NC Oil & Gas Commissioners' Meeting: Keep NC Frackfree
DESCRIPTION:Right now\, until Nov. 9\, NC’s Oil & Gas Commission is reviewing and accepting comments on the state’s oil and gas rules\, including on fracking. North Carolina is still frack-free thanks to these current strong rules in place; it’s important that the Commission keeps it that way! \nJoin the next Oil and Gas Commissioners meeting on November 4th at 9 a.m. to learn more and speak up for implementing even stronger protections. If you live in a county that’s vulnerable to fracking (including Lee\, Chatham and Moore counties) and possibly the Dan River sub-basin (including Stokes and Rockingham counties). It’s important to attend. \nMeeting details \n\nNov 4\, 2026\n9am\nGround Floor Hearing Room of the Archdale Building\,\n\n512 N. Salisbury St.\, Raleigh\, NC\, 27604\n\n\nVirtual option available!!\n\nThe fracking rules are referred to as “15A NCAC 05H – Oil and Gas Conservation”. You can submit comments via email & mail. \nMake sure to included in your subject line the rules you are commenting on\, ex: 15A NCAC 05H \nTo submit electronic comments\, email OilandGas@deq.nc.gov \nOr mail written comments to: \nDept. of Environmental Quality\nDivision of Energy\, Mineral\, and Land Resources\nOil and Gas Commission (Attn. SUMMARY:Davidson County Board of Commissioners Meeting: Protect the Yadkin River!
DESCRIPTION:Duke wants to build this energy complex to serve data centers that don’t exist yet. If the Davie-Davidson Energy Complex moves forward\, we could see an explosion of data centers in the area. This development would permanently alter the region’s natural character\, remove portions of Perkins Game Land from conservation and public use\, and industrialize this stretch of the Yadkin River. It would also expose nearby communities to harmful air pollution — all while leaving Duke customers to foot the bill. \n  \nYour voice matters: Tell Davidson County leaders to reject Duke’s rezoning request
