DESCRIPTION:The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is hosting a webinar to prepare communities for how to get involved and provide EPA with their input on the upcoming proposed National Primary Drinking Water Regulation for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) under the Safe Drinking Water Act. \n\n\n\n\nThe public webinar will be held on November 2\, 2022 (2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.\, Eastern Time).  ACCESS LINK \nIn the webinar\, you will hear about: \n\nWhat are PFAS and how do they impact drinking water\nHow EPA develops a drinking water regulation\nEPA’s timeline and activities associated with the proposed PFAS drinking water regulation\nWhat happens after the regulation is proposed and how can communities provide their input to EPA\nWhere to go for more information\n\nThe webinar will also provide an opportunity to submit questions. During the webinar\, EPA will not be discussing the specific requirements of the proposed PFAS drinking water regulation. Chemours is required to provide alternate water supplies to residents whose wells exceed specific action levels. \nTo have your well sampled\, call Chemours at (910) 678-1100. Messages to the Chemours call-line are monitored during regular business hours (Monday through Friday\, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.); Chemours should respond within 24-to-48 hours starting on the next business day.
