Clean Water for NC Supports “NC Moral Monday” Protests at the General Assembly

Moral_Monday-Supporters

The Board of Directors of Clean Water for NC stands with the NAACP of NC and more than a hundred other organizations to support “NC Moral Mondays,”  a principled protest calling for an end to the unprecedented legislative attack against the people and environment of our state.

We oppose the thousands of bills the majority party has introduced that harm our communities and undermine all aspects of social, economic and environmental well being.

We cannot allow the shredding of environmental protections and lack of accountability for polluters to become the norm.

As a science-based environmental justice organization, Clean Water for NC encourages our members and allies to participate in “Moral Mondays” in whatever way is possible. Over 150 ordinary North Carolinians have been arrested so far, and many more have been present as supporters each Monday.  It is not necessary to risk arrest; a large group of supporters is critical, ensuring the safety of participants and clarifying the message for the public through signs, statements and media contacts.

We hope you will join us in defending all that is best about North Carolina.

For more information about participating as a supporter or risking arrest at Moral Mondayas soon as June 3, please contact info@naacpnc.org or call our Durham office, 919-401-9600.
