The Sustainable FERC Project is working to produce a public report that would provide specific recommendations for changes and improvements in regional transmission organizations’ (RTOs) existing public participation practices to serve as the basis for future advocacy on reforms.
As FERC examines these issues, they are particularly interested in hearing perspectives from environmental justice and community-based organizations, scholars and leaders on your familiarity with RTOs and their public participation processes, your level of current participation (if any) in these processes, and your feedback on areas for improvement.
Please note: Only a small portion of North Carolina is served by an RTO. View the map here.
For those who may not be familiar with RTOs, or who would like a refresher, FERC will hold two 45-minute informational sessions on Wednesday, January 19, 7:30 – 8:15 PM ET and Monday, January 24, 3:00 – 3:45 PM ET.
These sessions will be identical, so you only need to attend one. If you would like to attend, or if you are interested but would prefer a different date and time, please fill out the registration form
