Engaging EPA’s Proposed Drinking Water Rulemaking for PFAS

November 2, 2022 @ 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm EDT

Free

The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is hosting a webinar to prepare communities for how to get involved and provide EPA with their input on the upcoming proposed National Primary Drinking Water Regulation for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) under the Safe Drinking Water Act.

The public webinar will be held on November 2, 2022 (2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Eastern Time).  ACCESS LINK

In the webinar, you will hear about:

  • What are PFAS and how do they impact drinking water
  • How EPA develops a drinking water regulation
  • EPA’s timeline and activities associated with the proposed PFAS drinking water regulation
  • What happens after the regulation is proposed and how can communities provide their input to EPA
  • Where to go for more information

The webinar will also provide an opportunity to submit questions. During the webinar, EPA will not be discussing the specific requirements of the proposed PFAS drinking water regulation. That information will be available once the proposed rule is issued.

EPA will do its best to include all those interested in attending, but may have to limit attendance due to web conferencing size. For those unable to attend, the meeting will be recorded and made available on EPA’s PFAS NPDWR website (https://www.epa.gov/sdwa/and-polyfluoroalkyl-substances-pfas). Registration will be available until the meeting date or if EPA reaches webinar capacity limitations. Following successful registration, you will receive a confirmation email message from Eventbrite, and meeting webinar login information will be provided to you no later than 3 days prior to the webinar.

For meeting registration issues or other logistical questions, please contact [email protected]. For all other questions, please contact [email protected].

For information on electronic access or accommodations for individuals with disabilities or other requested assistance (e.g., language translation), please contact [email protected] or indicate this as a part of registration. If possible, please allow at least five business days prior to the meeting to give EPA time to process your request.

Don’t forget this is one of the ways to ensure your Voice is Heard and that you can engage in Meaningful Public Participation!
